What is Casemaker Libra?

Casemaker Libra is an online searchable library of treatises, practice guides and continuing legal education materials linked to the casemaker database. Books can be leased individually or by practice area or the entire library can be leased. A typical lease is one year and you will have access to any supplements or new books if a practice area or library lease has been made. Typical links into the Casemaker system include case law, statutes, acts and administrative codes. Leased books can be browsed individually or searched similarly or by practice area or library.

Can more than one person participate?

The lease is at the individual user level. However, if there is more than one interested party in your office, you may certainly view the session together.

While searching or browsing, the system asked me to subscribe even after purchasing the books - why is that?

Your lease for the book or practice area may have expired. You can login and check the books expiration date from the My Account link.

Can I print the book?

You can only print one chapter at a time.

How do I access the books after a successful subscription purchase?

Upon registration, you should receive a confirmation email with full instruction. If you do not have this email a book can be access as follows

  1. Login with user name and password to Casemaker Libra website.
  2. Under My Subscription list of purchased books will be displayed.
  3. Click on "View Online Book" in front of your purchased book.

How do I pay?

You can pay when you register online using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). Upon registration you will establish a user id and password that will be your credentials for logging into the system to view your books.
